The Green Line Extension Project is an initiative of the Massachusetts Executive Office of Transportation & Public Works, in coordination with the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority.This project will extend existing MBTA Green Line service from Lechmere Station through the northwest Boston corridor communities of Cambridge, Somerville, and Medford, with an extension line to Union Square in Somerville.
